“Since my early childhood I have collected sand. Nature attracts and inspires me, and in particular the remarkable structured and coloured varieties of sand.”
Sand forms the material and conceptual core of this art collection. Each work originates from sand collected from a young age during travels around the world. The gathered sands form an archive carrying traces of memories, moments, and places. It symbolizes connections and diversity. Each grain, its colour and its shape, reflects landscapes, experiences and encounters; in short, it revives moments of the past, present and future.
In the abstract, minimalist compositions, the different physical and thermal properties of sand are explored, worked and petrfied in different ways.
The works are presented in plexiglass frames that place material and form at the centre and invite the viewer to a slow and sensory experience, leaving space for personal interpretation.
